Self Defense
ABCs of Self Defense
“Everyone has the ability to learn to protect themselves. I love Krav Maga because it is so accessible. I have taught women over seventy how to fight attackers with their canes and walkers. I have taught four-year-old children and women no taller than five feet how to protect themselves. I have taught large men that they don’t need to fight because they can de-escalate a situation using their voice and body language. The idea is always to walk in peace - but if others will not allow us to walk in peace, we must be the ones who know what to do. The objective is not to fight - the objective is to get ourselves and our loved ones home safe.”

The timeline of violence
awareness to Avoid
Our Krav Maga curriculum is based on activating a vigilant mindset and awareness. Predators look for key signs when choosing who to attack. We teach you how to handle events on a situational timeline, beginning with the warning signs. Our objective is to help you understand the thought process of a predator - this includes learning to recognize red flags, patterns of behavior and speech designed to isolate you, and more.
Boundaries - establishing your first wall of defense
Predators have a long history of repeatedly pushing boundaries and violating mental and physical space. Many predators are found close to home, where they exploit trust in order to manipulate the people they prey upon. Strangers and attackers in public space often look for individuals who seem hesitant to reinforce their boundaries. Our objective is to help you free your voice and body in order to establish clear boundaries that everyone can see. We believe that you are your best defense and the only savior you need. Anyone can learn to use their voice and body language to establish and sustain a clear boundary.
Contact Combat - when all else fails, know what to do
Unfortunately, there will be times when you cannot avoid dangerous situations and the establishment of clear boundaries will not deter a predator. These are the times we train our clients to handle. When you have exhausted your options when de-escalation and deflection have not worked, then you need to strike to the weak points, make sure the attacker cannot follow you, and run to safety. We need to examine, execute and escape.
Krav Maga is designed with reality in mind. Street scenarios, threats in subways, parking garages and elevators, situations in houses of worship, planes and trains, carjacking, and first dates - we have analyzed thousands of scenarios to find the best techniques for each case. These hour long classes address particular situations chosen by our clients. Each class will include a private consultation where the client will discuss the situation they want to cover.
