Community Collaborations
GSD
Guardian Self Defense
GSD’s self-defense program is a movement focused on connecting communities that seek training with quality security experts at a location near them and begin training immediately. Originally created due to the uptick in antisemitic attacks in New York City during the pandemic, GSD quickly morphed into a community-run movement.
From the GSD team: “GSD works closely with all Jewish security and communal institutions such as Shomrim, Community Security Service (CSS), and JCRC's Community Security Initiative (CSI). As random acts of violence and outright anti-Semitism skyrocket with barely any reaction from the broader public, we must become our own first responders. GSD is honored to train the largest group of Orthodox Jews in the U.S.
For nearly two years and steps from Chabad World Headquarters, over 100 students learn self-defense with us each week. We have partnerships with hundreds of organizations to share our model of success and coordinate our efforts. Join us.”
Raz and Liz are honored to join Joe Richards, Shaked Landor, Ortal Kindell, Eliran Cohen, Roey Zivan, Marcio Stambosky, Deborah Gracie, Amit Bigelman, Hila Elias, Darren Glick, and Brad Gerstman in this endeavor.
Brave
Brave is a community-based nonprofit that was created during the pandemic to protect minority communities under attack in New York City. Originally born in a dangerous period where violence against the Asian community was rampant, Brave became a place for minority communities to build bridges and help one another. Raz, Liz and Elke have been working with the Brave community to provide free self-defense training to children, teens, adults, and senior citizens in NYC.
